For Columbia- Sign up Now
Saturday, April 25, 2026

First Baptist Family,
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25, as we join thousands of others at ForColumbia!
Each year, ForColumbia invites churches across mid-Missouri to come together for a shared day of service, offering care, connection, and compassion throughout our community. Founded in 2015, this day has become a meaningful way for people of faith to show up side-by-side and freely share God’s love in tangible ways.
This year, while First Baptist is not leading a specific site, we would love to see a strong presence from our church. Whether you sign up as an individual or gather a group of friends, Sunday School class, or family, this is a beautiful opportunity to serve together.
If you are looking for ideas, here are a few sites that tend to be especially meaningful for multigenerational groups:
- Gans Creek – clearing and outdoor care
- Love Columbia – mulching, clean-up, sod-laying, and more
- Woodhaven – landscaping, planting flowers, and relational connection (low skill, accessible space with raised garden beds and a large fenced area)
Additionally, ForColumbia will be returning to Mt. Celestial this year for:
- Trail work
- Spreading mulch and pulling weeds
Please note that Mt. Celestial may not be the best fit for groups with young children or for those with limited mobility, but we are grateful for the chance to serve there again.
If you have a preference for where you would like to serve, we encourage you to register by Palm Sunday, March 29. After that, ForColumbia will place volunteers where the need is greatest, doing their best to keep small groups together. The final day to register is April 12.
If you need any help with registration or have questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
This is one of those days where we get to embody what we talk about each week: showing up with love, offering what we can, and participating in the good work already happening around us. I hope you will consider being part of it.
