Arts in Worship over the past 20 Years

This is a look back over the Visual art displays I have created over the last 20 years at First Baptist Church of Columbia, MO

Advent 2023
The theme is from Sanctified Art




LENT

We started with the black fabric in the center and on the outer edges. Each week two more pieces of the purple fabric were added. Then Easter Sunday was the white fabric and the last two purple pieces creating the cross image.




The coloring pages were done by the members showing the "Beauty of the Cross".

This year's theme was "The Many Faces Of Jesus."

In this display I used the empty frames to acknowledge we see Art in God's creations all around us.

Brenda Rice

Brenda's job title is Arts, Web and Facilities Coordinator, which covers a broad array of duties. From seasonal displays for worship, to church decor, coordinating most all our events, washing tablecloths, working in the flower beds, Brenda is a very busy person.
She has been worked on almost every square inch of First Baptist Church, since the Fall of 2005. She is responsible for the beautiful seasonal displays that follow the liturgical calendar and our sermon series, in the sanctuary and fellowship hall as well as the overall welcoming feel and decor of the church. Brenda also oversees our YouTube channel and the church website. You name it,  from concerts to conferences and weddings to funerals, she is working to make sure it all runs smooth.
