Journey Together - Connect
A Family-oriented Spiritual Formation Experience
Journey Together is a weekend event for families with kids hosted by First Baptist Kids Ministry. Journey Together is designed to help you and your family connect with God, one another, and other families with kids in our community.
This year’s theme is Connect.
Adults and children alike will come together to explore what it means to belong to one another and to God. Through shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and moments of wonder, we will discover how our lives are connected in ways both seen and unseen.
We are looking forward to the ways your family and our church family will build relationships, grow in faith, and experience the joy of connection during this special event.
Participants:
Activities are geared toward kids aged 4 through 5th grade and their families, however, all are welcome! Youth can participate with their families or volunteer to help. Email Pastor Brittany at

This year there is a new opportunity for 5th and 6th graders (completed) for a deeper dive into spiritual formation with Pastor Kristin. See the bottom of the page for more details!

Schedule:
Friday, June 13, 5:30-7:30 pm, dinner provided
Saturday, June 14, 10:00 am-2:30 pm, lunch provided
Sunday, June 15, 10:15-11:05 am with combined worship to follow at 11:15 am in the sanctuary.
What to expect:
At Journey Together: Connect, families will explore stories from scripture that reveal the many ways we are connected.
We’ll hear how Jesus made room for children and reminded us that everyone belongs. We’ll discover the deep bonds of care and commitment through the story of Ruth and Naomi. We’ll learn how to listen for God and one another with Samuel and Eli. And we’ll encounter Lydia, whose open heart led her into new relationships and community.
Through family-friendly worship, drama, hands-on Bible engagement, art and science explorations, and active games, participants of all ages will practice what it means to:
- make room
- stay connected
- listen well
- and open their hearts
Together, we will create a space where connection isn’t just something we talk about - it’s something we experience, as we learn what it means to belong to God and to one another.
Cost:
This year, there is an option to purchase a shirt for $5.00, but Journey Together is free! That's right, you get three amazing days of activities and faith formation with your family for free! We can hardly wait! The deadline to order a shirt is May 24th.

Wayfinders
Making Sense of the Pieces
A special Journey Together experience for 5th & 6th graders
Faith is a journey — and sometimes the path isn’t always clear. That’s why we need Wayfinders.
Wayfinders is a special track within Journey Together just for 5th and 6th graders. This group is asking big questions, and Wayfinders will give space for students to listen to God’s voice and grow as leaders in their faith. Together we’ll explore how God guides us, how we can care for the world around us, and how to follow Jesus every day.
Through deeper conversations, hands-on learning, and opportunities to lead, Wayfinders will help students take the next step on their journey with God. We’ll wonder, listen, lead, and practice — all while taking a deeper dive into God’s love.
