Ministry Teams

First Baptist Church’s Mission and Ministry is carried out by six teams whose members are selected annually by our Nominating Committee.

Worship 

The Worship Team enhances our experiences of Christian worship through the Arts, encouraging members to express their gifts through the worship of God through various means, and providing direction for use of worship space.

Administration

The administration team ensures adequate staff, care and distribution of funds. The make plans for and maintain the church’s physical resources. In addition, this team keeps congregational records.

Congregational Care

The congregational care team extends love to the entire congregation, including important pastoral care and overall congregational interaction through Christian fellowship.

Telling

The telling team coordinates more forms of adult Christian education. It also helps the congregation with inviting, welcoming and including new members, as well as communicating the message of the church through various forms of media.

Teaching

The teaching team coordinates more forms of adult Christian education directed to the congregation and chosen audiences beyond the congregation.

Serving

The serving team leads the congregation in mission education and ministry starting in Columbia and broadening out to around the world.

Racial Justice and Inclusion

The Racial Justice and Inclusion Team leads the congregation to become better educated about racial injustice, systemic racism, and white privilege and explores ways to take action locally toward achieving racial justice in our church and the broader community.
