Brittany came to First Baptist in August of 2017. After serving two years as the church’s first Pastoral Resident, she became the Interim Assistant Pastor. In January of 2020, Brittany accepted the call as Pastor of Families and Spiritual Formation. Brittany serves as the pastor to Children, Families, College Students, and Young Adults. She also oversees adult education, spiritual formation, worship planning, and assists with Pastoral Care. Brittany is passionate about congregational ministry, and loves being a part of a congregation that promotes the message of belonging.
Brittany received her Bachelor of Social Work from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and her Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry at Logsdon Seminary. She met her husband, Bryce, during her first seminary class and he has been her constant champion and support through school and ministry. They have a cat, Bellatrix, who loves him and tolerates her. Both Brittany and Bryce lived in Texas their entire lives (except for 6 months she spent in South Africa while studying abroad) and they love being a part of the community here in Columbia. In her free-time, Brittany enjoys reading, a good conversation over a cup of coffee, taking advantage of Columbia’s many trails, and frequenting the Cat Café.
