Susie Bennett

Susie joined First Baptist Church as the Youth Ministry Director in August 2010. She has a long history of working with Youth that began in the mid 1990s. At that time the Youth were in need of a Sunday School teacher. Susie began teaching the Youth Group every Sunday morning. During fifteen or so years of volunteering with the youth, she accompanied the Youth Group on many Summer Mission Trips and Fall Retreats.

The beginning of the 1995-96 school year, Susie and several other mission minded people started a program on Wednesday nights that focused solely on Missions. In keeping with that tradition today, the youth go to the Central Missouri Food Bank the first Wednesday of every month to package food for families in need. The Youth are also active in various other community missions throughout each year.

Susie has a degree from Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri. Since joining First Baptist Church in 1993, she also volunteered for over ten years in the Columbia Public Schools. She is married to Dave Bennett and they have three children; Megan, married to Justin Riley; Jaime, married to Rob Zumwalt; and Alex, married to Megan Bennett. They also has five grandchildren; Sophia, Jackson, William, Henry and Landon.
