Student Ministry Header Green lake crop

Adolescence is rapidly changing and it is no secret that our youth ministry models of the past 30 years are proving to be less than effective. Instead of creating massive programs that focus youth’s attention away from the church body, our goal at First Baptist is to connect our students to the larger life of the church through inter-generational relationships, creative participation, encouragement, and commitment to Christ and to the Church. We do this by intentionally working to involve our students in worship, by creating an adult network of support and care, by equipping and empowering parents to shape their student’s faith, by helping students grow in their faith, and by showing our youth that they are not just the Church of tomorrow, but that they are very much a part of the Church today.

Sunday Morning Small Group

Youth are welcome to attend service on Sunday morning and join together at 10:15 a.m. for Sunday Morning Bible Study. During this time, students in grades 6-12 meet in the Youth Suite to grab a donut, catch up with friends and dive deeper into God’s word.

Worship Opportunities

Youth are encouraged to share their musical talents through special performances, by joining the Awakening Band, or becoming a part of the Sanctuary Choir. Students are regularly asked to lead in our worship services, participate on our Tech Teams, and help with the elements of worship.

The Calling- Mid-Week Gathering

Wednesday nights from 6:00- 7:15pm p.m. youth, grades 6-12, come together in the Youth Suite to build relationships, explore their faith, and discuss how the Bible helps shape and guide their lives. Community and connection are central to our time together and, of course, snacks : )
